It’s been a busy week and a half for me with the continued work on The Nook, the website and whatnot. I find myself drowning in nests at Jolly Farm to an almost depressing state. Sales suck – there’s just no denying it.
It’s not even just the sales of the bunnies and nests themselves that has been slow to non-existent… my Xstreet sales have screeched to a halt. I looked at my sales records and they have steadily declined since the first of the month. I’m unsure why. Perhaps there are better alternatives to my products that have come about. Perhaps my competitors who are charging significantly more per item are in turn able to afford better product enhancements than I and are therefor gaining better position within the search. Whatever it is, I need to fix it.
I did well not working at clubs for a while but I fear I may need to pick up some shifts at Club Industry soon (I need too anyways as apart of the agreement). But I may need it to cover my business expenses. That sort of sucks the fun out of everything.
I have the money for my personal parcels and my share of the cost of the others. However come June 1st when the .::Trash::. parcel is due to expire, I will not be renewing it. I must admit that I took on the parcel out of desire to have that plot in particular with no real business plan for it. It just so happened that it made sense at the time to use it for .::Trash::. since it had no main store location anywhere. I find it rather ironic that for the past nearly 4 years, I have been counted amongst the listing of Pro Developers on IMVU for my artistic value in clothing and my ability to sell them – and yet, .::Trash::. is lucky to make a sale or two a month – XStreet sales included. I admit, I don’t really work on it as a project nor do I make any large advances to promote it. So, perhaps it’s time to let the ball drop. I have bigger fish to catch.
I will be deleting “The Official Group of Trash” and with the exception of on Xstreet, I will no longer offer the products I have created under that brand name. I realize the parcel is only 219L$ a week. But that really adds up when the business makes no money… and 219L$ can be the difference between affording another parcel of mine or not. I’d considered instead using a stall at The Nook for the products and I may do that temporarily – just to make it look less empty. But after which period that becomes no longer necessary, I’ll pull the plug.

Well, it was brought to my attention that a lot of farmer’s markets–the type where people resell bunnies, chickens, etc–have instituted “market pricing”. Vendors have to sell at above or below a set price or they simply don’t get to sell at all. This rampant price-fixing has been a real pain to a lot of sellers, great and small, and is believed by a friend of mine (a hobbyist bunny farm) to be causing the bottom to drop out.
The “market pricing” is meant to help. But the prices are actually higher than the majority of consumers are willing to pay. The issue is that the market is flooded. There’s not enough Ozimal users to buy all of the bunnies and even if there were more people…. the market would just continue to flood as more people grew interested in breeding. The only way to salvage the Ozimals economy is to implement Bunnybury – and remove the excess nests.
