What a busy, crazy day. The Nook saw its official launch Wednesday afternoon. Xavion logged into Second Life for what seems like the first time in several days and we okay he set up the rent boxes. He really did a fantastic job on them. *Rubs her own ego* I did the graphic work. We set up the online indicators and paging system… the so very awesome ad board system and perfected the homey touches.

So it’s my pleasure to announce officially here at SookieSlafford.com that The Nook Shopping Mall is officially open for accepting applications.

We’re using hippoRENT which is a well known and widely used rental system across the grid. However, we chose to be a little bit different. Ya know how you go to visit a stall and there’s some tacky rent box floating in the air? It tells you personal information – like who is renting the stall and how much time is left on their rent box. Yeah… it’s ugly. So instead, we have provided our tenants with a special rent center – located in our leasing office. All of the boxes are together in ONE place, making them easy to find and easy for potential clients to see which stalls are available. The best part? They are linked internally using the hippoRENT website and all of the stalls are labeled accordingly. They are easily controlled online – easy for us, easy for you!

The ad board system is probably one of my favorite touches – thanks to Xavion. Not only do we offer standard looking ad boards in the leasing office, but more decorative ones such as the displays hanging from our light poles as shown in the picture. In fact, that’s pretty much the reason we decided to purchase that particular set of ad boards. I think the light poles are incredible and unique. It really gives the mall a special and unique touch.

The ad boards are quite affordable at only 100L/week (with discounts if you pay for 3 or 4 weeks in advance!

As you can see, Jolly Farm already has a stall – just to make the place look not so empty for now and to give others an idea of the fun things they can do with a stall.

At The Nook, we don’t just rent stalls to anyone. It is important to us that we only forge business commitments with quality business owners who are creative, serious about their business and committed to their work. And that’s why we screen every shopkeepers using a brief application.

Pricing

The Nook offers a variety of stall sizes and prim allowances. There are 14 “small”, 2 “medium” and 2 “large” stalls available. Our pricing is neither cheapest nor the most expensive out there. It is based not only on the amount of prim allotted, but the services and marketing tools we provide.

Base Price

These are the base prices for The Nook. Included in this price is our most basic package*.

Small (50 Prim) – 200L$ / week
Medium (125 Prim) – 500$ / week
Large (200 Prim) – 800L$ / week

Other packages are available for an additional weekly fee.

Of course my favorite part is the website. An unbelievable amount of hours went into it and I owe it all to Xavion for his hard work. It’s a shame that no one will be able to appreciate it as much as he and I will. There are so many special gadgets going on in the background that really make the website tick, make it easy to use and interactive for all levels of users.
