Hey… Where’s the Beef?

If you’re into reading my blog, you’ve probably noticed that it’s been a while since I posted. Things have been hectic and everything has been changing so fast.

Jolly Farm

There’s so much to talk about that I don’t even know where to begin. I guess I’ll start with the website first. I’m pretty sure I’ve talked about it a little in prior posts but in case I haven’t… I started a website for Jolly Farm. But it’s not just about my business… it’s about Ozimals in general as well. Here’s the URL: http://www.jollyfarmonline.info

It’s sort of a mixture of both a blog and information hub. The content is everything from information regarding Ozimals updates and events, Jolly Farm’s new product releases, news, etc. And the information pages are packed full of info regarding the bunnies themselves. It’s actually quite neat and Xavion worked really hard with me to make it all possible. I owe him big time for all of his help with some of the more technical aspects.

In other news…

Jolly Farm physically expanded again. Lassarina owned the parcel behind the main store building for a while but decided she didn’t like the shape of that land and wanted to move on the other side of Jolly Farm – across the street. So, she sold me her parcel and I used it to create a permanent events area which we’ll be using for a variety of things like an upcoming “Jolly Farm Bunny Hop” dance as well as auctions in the future. Here are a couple of pics of the new area…

That’s about it for Jolly Farm stuff that’s really worth posting here. It’s just… I keep the Jolly Farm blog updated so much that it’s a lot easier for people to read that!

Lionheart Estate

So if you don’t know, Jolly Farm has been at Lionheart Estate since I opened it now 5 months ago. And of course I’ve been Senior Mentor (basically, I’m the head volunteer at the newbie center) for quite some time. A couple of months ago, I was invited to become official staff as a Sales Representative and I turned it down for a variety of reasons – I was romantically involved with Xavion who’s a key member of staff, I wasn’t sure if being official staff was a direction I was wanting to go and I was concentrating on Jolly Farm.

Well, I was asked again and this time, I’ve said yes. I almost turned it down again because I really have my heart set on running for the Chamber of Commerce Chairman position and should I win, I don’t want anyone to think it’s because I’m staff. But after putting a lot of thought into it, I realize it doesn’t matter… people are going to think what they want to think no matter how silly it is. Someone is always going to cry foul based on my close relationships with the staff anyways. So that’s what’s going on there. Dirk’s been super busy with the new sim – Lionheart Nuka (which it totally pretty and you know you want land there) so he hasn’t given me what I’m gonna call “the talk” yet. haha

Which leads me to…

Slafford Sanctuary

I don’t know where this all came from but for the last couple of weeks, I’ve found myself itching to just do something… else. I love Jolly Farm – don’t get me wrong. But everything I make is about bunnies. I’m a talented young lady and there’s so much more to my talent than bunnies. And so I bought a little parcel at Lionheart Nuka – right next door to Xavion’s new office (okay… mostly I did it to torture him haha) and I opened up Slafford Sanctuary. At the moment, it’s more like an office / gallery of my avatar artwork. And it will remain as such… but will also eventually include textures for sale as well as information and pricing for edited avatar photos (I might offer to do edited RL pictures too come to think of it – photo manipulation is actually my specialty).

My only problem right now is that ironically… I cannot currently do graphics or avatar art at the level of which I’m accustomed to… (I’ll get to this in the next post).

Darin Mann

If you’ve seen my in world profile lately, you’re probably like “Who the hell is this?” because well, I’ve never mentioned him before. Darin Mann is my real life husband’s avatar.

Prior to my broken computer fiasco (again, I’ll get to this more in the next post), my husband planned to come back to try out Second Life again. His account is ridiculously old in comparison to mine and he’s only used it a handful of times. Last time he used it was literally a year ago and I was a noob myself and I couldn’t really afford to make him look decent on get him clothing of any sort of quality. This time, I took him out and I dressed him up real nice… but he’s not gotten to use it yet.

Yes, I partnered him to me. He’s stuck with me anyways. :D

Sookie Slafford
I'm an elf of many trades and master of quite a few of them. With over a year of Second Life grid experience, I've seen it, done it and have the t-shirt in a variety of colors and permissions. I author this blog and you can learn more on my About Me page.

  1. Well one thing you don’t have to worry about is the election for Chairperson.

    Because it’s ON. :P

I tease, of course; when I say “may the best elf win” I sincerely believe that that could mean either one of us.
