A New Sookie Slafford

Today, I am proud to announce a new SookieSlafford.com – complete with new features, better readability and a more beautiful site for your viewing pleasure! Today marks a new adventure for you and I, dear reader. Prepare to embark on a fresh journey through my Second Life (and real life too!).

In my last post, I promised to revamp the site and unfortunately, it took me a lot longer than I expected. As a website designer, I’m incredibly picky about the themes I choose to display my blogs and I had a really hard time finding one I liked – and I certainly didn’t have time to design and code one.

If you follow me on Plurk, you’ve probably read about me going on and on and on about wanting badly to purchase a theme I’d fallen in love with. Taa-Daa!

So What’s New and What’s Coming?

There’s still a bit of work to do on the site. I imagine there’s still plenty of typos for me to catch (if you see some, don’t hesitate to email me at HIDDEN EMAIL or contact me in world). I may arrange some widgets if I decide I’m unhappy with their placement and eventually go back through old posts to freshen them up with the new formatting this theme so wonderfully provides.

New Post Types

Looking back through my blog posts, I see a lot of “Me, me, me”. This is probably because it’s a self-titled blog with the sole purpose of hosting stories of my Second Life. While that’s likely to continue being the bulk of the site, I’d like to write a little more broadly from here on out and talk about Second Life related topics that are important to me, but still much more relevant to you as a reader.

All About Me

Let’s just say that the old About Me page was… lacking. Not only was it incredibly outdated, it really didn’t provide any decent information about who I really am. I’ve updated it and I hope it gives you great insight into who I am. Hopefully you enjoy reading it and find it relate-able.

Advertisements

Earlier this year, I made a promise to myself – to stop selling myself short and be serious about what my talents deserve. That is why I took this big change as an opportunity to revamp my prices as well. And what’s more… I got serious about what running an advertisement campaign on this website really means and how beneficial it truly is to you. (Special thanks to Strawberry Singh and StrawberrySingh.com for the inspiration) So if you found the old information lacking or weren’t sure how running an ad on this site could benefit you, go ahead and check out the new Advertisement information page.

Thank You!

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of my supportive readers for their patience and understanding. I truly hope that you love the new site as much as I do and are equally excited to keep up with the topics and posts you’ll find here in the future.
