My 2nd Rez Day
It’s not that I can’t believe I’ve been on Second Life for 2 years today – it’s that I can’t believe it’s only been 2. I started forming a post a few days ago and was going through pictures of my avatar taken in the last 12 months just like I did last year and I was amazed at how much has happened… how many memories had… how many friends lost… and how many friends unfortunately never gained. In a virtual world where things change completely over the course of 24 hours, you never really have the chance to slow... Continue Reading

2010 Re-Visited
I was planning a rather extensive post to re-vist 2010, but really, I think it’s summed up so much better in pictures. These are some of my favorite pictures / moments from 2010. Looking back on them, I’m a bit saddened to see how many pictures I took alone. I’m not sure what that says about my Second Life. Most of my pictures involved Jolly Farm and my bunnies. I think next year, I need to make a habit of taking more pictures with my friends… At the original Jolly Farm Taken at The Cottage Xavion and Sookie at The... Continue Reading

Happy Holidays from Sookie and Elias!
It’s officially Christmas where I live on the East Coast and I hope everyone is safe from holiday travel! It’s my second Christmas on Second Life and truth be told, I don’t remember what I did last year! Unfortunately since my website isn’t quite a year old, I don’t have any fantastic post from last year to look back on. However, I do have last year’s Christmas card that I sent to my friends in 2009! I miss the sim I took that picture on. It was once a full sim where you could just go and spend time with... Continue Reading

Nothing Left For Me to Do But Dance
It’s been a great week full of awesome and exciting things! I always feel like I accomplished nothing, but when I look back on the week and I write out this post… I realize I really got a lot done! It’s time for Shit I Did When I Wasn’t Here! Jolly Farm The 2nd Oziversary celebration started this week. It hasn’t brought in the sales I’d hoped. In comparison to the Strawberry Festival, it seems like it’s been less promoted by Ozimals and there are less people doing the Over the Rainbow Hunt. Nevertheless, I’ve gotten some very nice messages... Continue Reading

The Birth Story of Elias
The Family is proud to introduce our sweet baby boy, Elias Slafford-Darkwatch who was born today, September 4th at 3:31pm SLT. I know you’re eager for a story. It was an interesting occasion – to say the least. It was a beautiful scene but we were without any sort of real birth plan until about an hour before it happened. We concluded that Anubis and Aponi would share the responsibility of “catching”. While we waited for Anubis to arrive, I sat on the birthing ball that came with the little set I bought, bouncing gently and teaching Aponi and Lassarina... Continue Reading

Tummy Talkers Suck
It’s the “big day” and so I figured I should probably wear the pregnancy system that got all of this started. I haven’t worn it but a couple of times during my pregnancy for a laugh here and there because it’s just an unnecessary scripted attachment. And… it’s got one of those creepy and annoying Tummy Talkers – the thing that emotes your pregnancy for you. For example… [09:23] Sookie’s Tummy: Sookie is feeling hungrier than usual, since she has to eat for two now. Wasn’t aware I was eating on SL at all, but okay! [09:33] Sookie’s Tummy: Sookie... I’m About To Pop!
With less than a day left until Elias Slafford – Darkwatch makes his way onto the grid, I’m really bummed my pregnancy is about to end. When you’re pregnant in real life, your emotions have time to adjust. I mean, you generally get about 40 weeks in order to realize you’re pregnant and fall in love with the miracle you’re carrying. You adjust to the idea of your body changing and the idea that you are bringing a child into the world and that your life is about to change forever. But on Second Life, being pregnant for 40 weeks... Continue Reading

Getting Excited Over a Prim Baby
Long ago, I experienced a Second Life birth and quite frankly, it traumatized me for several weeks. It wasn’t the idea of someone pretending to be pregnant or have an SL baby that bothered me. It was the fact that it meant nothing to the person and she grossly did it for attention. I remember huddling around in the maternity clinic she’d chosen while she yelled over mic and pretended to be in pain – moaning with every “contraction”. After the birth had been completed, we were all witness to the setup of the next birth – in which the... Continue Reading

My Second Life Pregnancy
Unless you’ve experienced the power of a great relationship like the one Xavion and I had, you probably can’t really understand all of the desires and plans I had forming in my mind. There were things I wanted with him… things I’d never considered before. About 8 1/2 weeks ago, I was still feeling pretty bummed over the breakup and I was talking with my SLister Aponi about it. I mentioned how sad I was because Xavion and I had briefly discussed having SL children and that dream was long gone out the window. So we decided… “Screw it.. we’ll... Continue Reading
