Hi, I’m Sookie Slafford aka The Alluring Artist – graphic designer and WordPress enthusiast (read: obsessed). I create distinctive and memorable logos for businesses of all types both in and out of Second Life, catered to your specifications.
One of the most important business decisions you will ever make involves your logo and branding. Your logo is usually the first thing the consumer sees and it can easily sway their desire to give you their business. Why? Because shoppers of any product or service first “judge a book by its cover”. If your logo is something that looks like it was designed in MSPaint in 1990, or appears to be low in quality – then in the consumer’s mind, there’s a good chance that whatever your selling is too.
As a graphic artist, I play an important role for you. It’s foremost my job to design a logo that captures what your business is all about and what your vision is; more importantly, it’s my job to design a logo that intrigues your clients and makes them interested in whatever you may have to sell them.
If this sounds like something you’re interested in, please keep reading.
This is how I roll…
I wouldn’t say I have any particular “style” of work I do. I am still working on a public portfolio (stay tuned to www.TheAlluringArtist.com for that) but you can view a few examples of my work below.
I use Photoshop CS5 to create your image on a 3000×3000 pixel canvas at 300dpi. Basically, that’s the quality and size required to print onto a real life t-shirt (just to give you some perspective). Why? Well because some people like having that option. You will receive your logo in both PSD and flattened PNG format (with transparency). You can additionally request that I deliver to you up to 5 specific sizes.
Pricing
So what’s something like the above going to cost you? Price-wise, I’m relatively cheap for a professional graphic artist. I believe in these times, you have to be competitive with your pricing and more importantly, offer a reliable service for the price. So here’s a basic set of examples of my pricing:
Basic Logo Package – Starting @ $25.00 USD / 6,500L$
The basic logo is a simple graphic made of less than 3 colors. It is mostly text based, but includes font modification, coloring and style. The best example is the Uncommon Logo above.
Included:
- Basic Logo in PSD and PNG format
- 3 Minor Revisions
Logo & Branding Package – Starting @ $35.00 USD / 9,100L$
Like the Basic Logo Package, you would receive a simple graphic made of 3 or less color which is mostly text based. The logo will include some type of branding symbol (such as feather in the Plush example or the linked cats in the Kitty Cattery logo above).

So you think you want to hire me?
Prior to paying someone for a service, it’s important to get a feel for who they are and the type of work they can do for you. Unfortunately, that’s tough on the internet. So in this section, I’d like to go through the stages we’re likely to encounter together so as to keep the process running smoothly for both of us.
Initial Contact
Your initial way of contacting me may come in a variety of ways. I’m an easy to approach kind of person and am comfortable with you contacting me in world either via private message or note card (whichever works best for you) or by emailing me at HIDDEN EMAIL Like any form of contact, these are subject to flaw. I may miss your message using any of these forms of communication and it’s important that I note here that I am a reliable person who generally responds to messages of any sort quickly and if you receive no response from me within 24 hours, it’s because I have missed it. In that case, it’s incredibly important to us both that you attempt to contact me again – perhaps using a different method.
Should you miss the opportunity to speak to me directly or prefer to communicate via email, please take the time to give me as much information as you can about your project. Just as I am eager to make money (like most people), I am not eager to enter a contract with someone who doesn’t even have a first thought about what they want from my services or with someone who doesn’t take this as seriously as I do.
Payment
You work hard for your money and it’s inconceivable that you would do so without some sort of guarantee that you would be paid for that work. Keeping that in mind, please understand that this is a real service being provided to you that involves a lot of work. It’s logical then that I expect to be paid for that service.
I will never ask a client for the money up front. You should never pay someone online for work that hasn’t been completed. Instead, I prefer to do the work asked of me and then show you the flat, watermarked example. I also don’t expect you to pay for something you do not like and so I offer a total of 3 minor revisions to the logo. At that point, I expect payment either via Paypal (my preferred payment option) or in Linden Dollars based on the most current exchange rate.
Communication
It’s important that you keep communication open with me during the time I am working for you. If I have questions regarding your logo, I may not be able to continue work on it until I have your answer. By not communicating with me, you only delay you receiving the completed work.
It’s just as important to me that if you have questions of further thought about your logo that you contact me as soon as possible. It’s important to me that I work with you to give you exactly what you envision.
Let’s Get Started!
So you’re ready to contact me? I want to make this transaction as client friendly as possible, but I need certain information from you in order to get started on your project. Please be ready to provide the following:
- Your package(s) of choice (or ask me about other options)
- A good idea of what you want for your logo – colors, general concept
- An approximate time-line or deadline (at least 24 hours are required for delivery)
- Payment Option (Paypal Preferred)
